The Country Club Neighborhood is a small community of about 550 homes with high quality, high end architectural design and construction. The Country Club Historic District was designated as a Historic Landmark District in 1990. Most of the lots and houses are large. The landscaped parkways are a defining element of the neighborhood, and create a feeling of park-like spaciousness. Wide streets, well maintained sidewalks, mature trees, and houses set back from the street give the area a distinguished look. The Country Club Neighborhood is predominantly single-family mansions and large homes, although there are number of duplexes near 6th Avenue which is commonly known as the North Country Club. The homes come in a variety of styles including Denver Squares, Mediterranean style, Bungalows, Victorians, large Tudors and Colonial Mansions. The layout of the streets and lots is far more generous than a typical grid. It is the combination of different streetscape configurations combined with a range of early 20th century architecture that creates the unique character of this district. The Denver Country Club itself, is located in the southern part of the neighborhood on First Avenue and Speer Boulevard and is the oldest country club west of the Mississippi.
Located 10 minutes southeast of Downtown Denver, and only blocks from Cherry Creek, Country Club is one of the most beautiful and sought-after neighborhoods in Denver. The Country Club Neighborhood incorporates some of Denver's finest examples of historic architecture. The Denver Country Club Neighborhood combines the character and charm of the past with the conveniences of today.
